If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know we've been to Copenhagen a couple of months ago.
I feel terrible I haven't shown these yet, it must feel weird to look at us squeezed in our coats when it's about 40 degrees outside!
We stayed 3 nights in Copenhagen. We originally went because I was to play a game with my Roller Derby team, but in February I broke my ankle pretty bad, and I unfortunately couldn't play anymore. So we decided to use these few days as a long and nice weekend break in Denmark. I was pretty excited about the design shops, the architecture, the shopping, etc... But I was also freaking out about walking around with an aircast!
The first day I braved it but I got in so much pain that we decided to hire one of these typical Christiana bikes. There were worth every penny! LIFE SAVIOUR (for me, not for Blake!).
It was great, Blake was pushing me around on the bike, I had the best view and felt like I was on a rollercoaster! Extreme limites, sensations fortes!
We booked a pretty apartment through Airbnb in the heart of Istedgade, above a tattoo parlour and beside a sex shop! Oh la la!
It was very convenient, next to the train station and the Tivoli Amusement Park (which was closed until April - sad face).
The day after we arrived, we went through town and up to the very little "Little Mermaid", I can't say I was very impressed! So after seeing most of the historical centre we went to Christiana and bumped into my Derby girls, it was a good fun! Chrisitiana felt quite grim though, especially in the main square where the dealers were hiding under camo tents. It felt like it's glory was long gone. Still, we decided to explore a little further, and went to see the houses. Some were incredible! They were standing by the river, made of recycling material and being so unique!
